Cortez Church of the Nazarene Women's Ministry is a vital part of the church. Our official name is Women in God's Service or WINGS, which is our desire.
There are different areas of service to God and other sisters in Christ.
The second Saturday of each month WINGS has some kind of monthly gathering. It can be as simple as breakfast at a favorite restaurant to a progressive dinner, tea party or even a Girls Night Out Movie Night.
We love to throw a good party! Bridal and Baby Showers are an excellent reason to have a party.
Also since we love to cook another ministry is food. We take meals to new Moms, Family's with sicknesses or other needs.
We love to care for each other. We have an active secret sister program. All ladies are welcome to be a part. We change "sisters" every six months.
The highlight is always the Women's Retreat in the fall! In October we "retreat" to a bed & breakfast that is only 20 minutes from Cortez. We are gone Friday evening through Sunday morning (yes, Pastor Anthony gives his approval to miss one Sunday per year). We laugh, eat, soak in the hot tub, eat, pray, eat, cry, eat, grow in the Lord, eat, grow in love with each other, eat, sleep a little, oh an did I say we eat! All in all, it's a wonderful, blessed time. For those who can't come for the entire weekend, you can come an evening, breakfast or all day!
In September we are starting a Bible Study on Monday evenings. We will share a light dinner (if desired) then study God's word.
A few short paragraphs can't begin to explain the wonderful Godly women in our church! We include all ladies 18 years old and up.
